Posts

Well! Apologies for not posting in so long! Soooo many things have happened! I shall try to cover a few things, though, and in order. First, my dear brother and I were confirmed. Come Holy Spirit! Second, a tragedy in the family; a week ago today, something very, very sad happened. People just finished leaving today. Anyway, I still haven't learned how to upload photos! Sorry about that, I shall have to ask my dear sister how. Signing out! Ann
Pie Time! Sorry for not posting in a while! In case you're wondering, this piece of Pie is Lemon Meringue. Nothing  much is new here, working on and off on various duties.  Kittens abound, so it seems; Seven of them! Six here, one at a friend's house. Turkeys too, too many. Three horses. Quite a few  sheep. One duck. Lots of chickens. Uncounted mice. A few rats. Pigeons galore. Swallows in great abundance.  And so on. A (usually) peaceful farm. Au Revoir!
Well, Pie, here we are! It is just another day at this lovely acreage where I am staying. The kittens skittering about, chickens stealing cat scraps, turkeys wandering all over the place. I awoke this morning with the noise of a crop-duster flying low above the fields. The sunlight dappling the gravel driveway is comforting, the glimpsees of two horses in a pen are simple and quiet. Taking a moment, I imagine this farm in the rain; warm summer rain: lovely. May this day bring you peace as well. Pie it Up!
Hello Pie! It's another lovely day at the Honrath's farm, Sunday, to be exact. I apologise for not posting lately, and for not yet learning how to upload photos. :-/ Well..... this past Friday, myself, young Mr. Honrath, and many of our friends went dancing. It is such fun! Waltz, Tango, Cha-cha, Foxtrot, Swing, Jitterbug and more! Yesterday was a quiet day, sort of. Just chillaxing at home and petting kittens. It promises to be a fairly interesting week; may it be so for you, too!
The Pie was delicious! We would like to recover from the wedding and people, but we can't. Now is our County Fair! My dear family friend, Mrs. Honrath, will be using a spinning wheel in the Round Barn. And other family friends will be having a booth! Cicadas are now singing in the trees outside, Summer is slowly leaving. May the Autumn be mild, the Winter be short, and Friends prevail.

Pielettes

Well, today many of the Honraths' guests departed. Minnesota good byes, (even though this is Iowa) were plenty. Actually, however, we do have two Pies in the house! One of the lovely Honrath girls made a peach pie and an apple pie yesterday! We are all just chilling out here, some of us are cleaning and others are working on whatever needs to be done. But, seeing as it's Sunday, we probably won't work more than is needed.  May you always have enough Pie!
Pie Again! The Wedding went well; two wonderful people vowing to be true until they die! After the reception, many friends came to the Honraths' house, myself included. There was soda for the few young ones and other beverages for the adults. I believe everyone enjoyed it. Rain early this morning has not dampened spirits much, and those who stayed the night seem content. May safe travel and wonderful days be with all!
